I have the Android app on my phone and the iOS app on my iPad.
The iOS app on iPad is just an iPhone app running on a bigger screen (i.e. picture an iPhone app zoomed to fit an iPad screen). I find that the vast majority of the time I use the Web browser on my iPad to access the web interface of chess.com instead of the app. The app's functionality is limited to Live Chess, Online Chess, Play vs. Computer, Tactics Trainer, and Video Lessons. For videos, you can go to categories, but you cannot search. For Online Chess, you have an analysis board but no access to Game Explorer. The app is best used in landscape orientation on an iPad.
On my phone, I use the Android app. My phone has a 5" screen and I could use the web interface here as well. However, on Android, I use the app. The Android app onlys run in potrait mode. Things you get with the Android app which the iOS app does not have: access Game Explorer from Analysis Board in Online Chess, Daily Chess Puzzle, Chess Mentor, Forums, Articles, Friends, Messages, etc.
Hope this helps.
I want to buy an android tablet or ipad.
I just wonder what works better the android app or ipad app of chess.com?
Who knows?
Thx.
