So, one funny situation today. Playing "Against Computer", at level ~2000, and funny thing, it gets stuck at "Computer thinking", but only after 36th move. This is like fifth game where this happens.

Anyone else encountered this ?

Yes. Seems to be a resilient bug. http://www.chess.com/forum/view/help-support/35th-move-freezes-computer

We've just added a fix for the 'against the computer' issues members have been experiencing.

Can you go into computer chess, look on the bottom right corner of your monitor. Can you click on the java icon then Open Control Panel.

Once this is open, use the bottom box where it says 'Settings'  - when that new box opens, click where it says 'delete files'.
Then OK

Once you've done this, refresh the page.

Sometimes the java icon is turned off from appearing in the tray.  If you're running windows....

start button/control panel/java/advanced/miscellaneous/check box "Place icon in system tray"

Also try clearing your cache, and even your java cache. see: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/plugin_cache.xml

Then try 'against the computer' for me.  If you're still having issues on there can you please let me know in detail whats happening.

Thanks

Sorry for late reply,

Yes, now it works fine, but I still have problems. Now I cant reach 36 moves anymore, it breaks me into pieces much before. Tongue out
