Archived Games

Are all games played on this site archived forever, or is that a feature only available to premium accounts? I know that free accounts only have access to games played in the last month, and would definitely consider going for a premium package if it meant getting access to all my past games, some of which are several years old. Does anyone know if this is the case?

there are always stored, premium member or not, it is just about how many games you can see.

all your games will always be there, but you will only see the past month's games

If you do choose to take out subscription my understanding is you do then have access to your full past-games archive (and all other members also).

How do I get to my games that I've already played?

You can access this link by going to your profile, clicking the "games" tab then "show more" at the bottom of your finished games section.

I noticed that I could go back only 100 pages (5000 games). Does that mean that the archive no longer holds my first 3,370 blitz games?

That is a good question. I assure you that it does hold all of your games, but I'm not sure why you can't go past page 100. I'll look into it.

Can all a premium members archived games be downloaded all at once. For example if I have 7500 games played over the years, can I access them and download them all at once? Can I download all the games at all?

You have to go to the Games Archive, and select a category from the pull-down list. Then you will be shown some buttons, one of them being "Download PGN". That downloads all the games in the category you have selected.

Really? When I do what you have said, it tells me that I must first select games. So I "select all" and I get 50. I do this again on page two, and get 50 more. Repeat for pages 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, ...100. And then, although I have played an additional 3,370 live blitz games, there is no page 101.

You are right. I am sorry. It seems you need to select the games. The "Select All" link seems to select only the current page. We might need a global "Select All Pages" button.

Unfortunately we no longer allow members to download their entire games archive. In the past, members used to do this but due to the sheer number of games that some had played, when they would go to download them all it would put a huge (unhealthy  if you will) load on the server.

And what about the 5000 game limit? Are older games available?
