auto-resign not working

I played a match and was winning, so my opponent logged off. It was a 30 minute match so I waited 3 minutes for auto-resignation. However, after the 3 minutes were gone there only standed "auto-resigns in 0:00" but nothing happen. That has happen to me many times and if you close the game, it will make you lose the match. Only way you can avoid losing the match is to wait for the whole time, wich was in this case 20 minutes. That is very frustrating and makes the auto-resign feature, wich i find very useful by the way, useless. I wish this bug could be fixed.

I agree one hundred percent.

I just had the same experience. Or rather, am having--still have 21 minutes left to wait on the game. Very frustrating.

Update: within a few minutes of posting this, the game auto-resigned--whew!  Hope it was just a fluke.  

just happened with 10 minute,
waited 8 minutes, usually it auto resigns 

Old thread, but this is happening to me right now. 

This is happening to me right now on a custom 60’ game....53 minutes to go.... 7 pieces up.....it was just getting fun!

I find auto resign fails as often as it works

I wonder if refreshing the page after the 3 minutes is up would help?

i gave a similar issue with a daily chess game. it was a 3 day game, which counted down to "<60sec." it stayed like that for 3+ days! all of a sudden a move from my random opponent shows up. he should have been out of time and lost. what gives?

Try this:  go to Settings, then click on Daily Chess, then look for the toggle switch labelled

"Automatically claim victory when time runs out!"

I think the the default setting is the off position.  You may need to turn it on.

Ah yes, a very old thread but it literally just happened to me.

Happening to me right now.  So annoying.  20 mins to wait, was doing well!

Same problem for me: auto-resign in 0:00 and nothing happened, have to wait 15min (it was a 30 min game). Finally the countdown went to zero for my opponent. And then nothing, no lost on time, I refresh the page: the game has simply disappeared.

Nice. They haven't made this simple bugfix in over 5 years. Good work guys.

The same here. I had to wait 10 minutes (all the opponent's time remaining) before the game ended, in spite of the message about auto-resignation in several seconds which appeared after 7 minutes (by the way, why after 7, not 4 or 5, as this was 15|10 game?). Luckily only, the game did not vanish.
