Auto-vacation in daily chess to avoid time-out

I would like my account to automatically change to vacation mode when I'm running low on time in my daily games.  Is this feature still available?  I wasn't able to locate in the settings page.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe vacation triggers automatically if you get within some very small margin of time (30 minutes or something like that).

I've had it trigger for me automatically like that in the past with no manual setting change.

The auto claim victory setting for daily chess is here:

Unfortunately, auto-victory claim isn't the setting OP is looking for.  But thank you for posting the link as it does make it seem that there is no setting for auto-vacation to avoid timeouts.

I upgraded to a Gold membership specifically expecting to have the option of auto-vacation when running low on time (since I play lots of daily games).  I vividly remember being able to that in a previous incarnation here on chess.com.  Maybe I still have that protection, but if so, I can't find any mention of it on the settings menus.  How about it staff?

My mistake. You’re correct, the premium auto-vacation protection for daily chess is not a setting. It’s just a premium feature.

I was thinking of the setting which prevents your opponent from timing out in non-tournament daily games.

Looks like manekapa is right.  Here is the official support article and a quote from it:

"(Note also that all premium members enjoy "auto-timeout protection," meaning that their vacation (assuming they have any left) will be automatically enabled if they are at risk of losing any of their games on time.)"

Thank you @Alramech, that is exactly what I needed to see.  I can stop worrying about time (time waits for this man).  Chess.com should mention "auto-timeout protection" in the premium membership page -- this is a selling-point to correspondence chess players.

Glad I could help.  I agree, it would be a nice feature to showcase.

Perhaps to put a bow on this topic, I found an email from September where Chess.com notified me my auto-vacation went into effect.

Hi @manekapa, yes, there it is in the fine print at the very end, like an after-thought, or a boiler-plate disclaimer.  My wife says men forget to look behind objects when looking for something.  Maybe that includes looking below objects too.  She's probably right.  But I say CC should mention the time-out protection in each list of features to make it more obvious.

Daily Chess has fewer players. I know timeout protection and tactics were the reason I first got premium, but I was mostly playing Daily at that time. Apparently the marketing team looked at the data and decided it wasn't as big of a selling point, and since all premium memberships get it, tacked it on at the end.

Thank you Martin, your explanation makes sense.
