Banned

I got banned because of bad language even though I didn't talk to anyone. I just wanted to see what would happen if I wrote some words after the other guy had left. Can someone please open my live account? I'm not buying premium this way.

pretty sure you can get back in, in 30 minutes time.

Now you know what happens when you write after the other guy leaves

So... is talking to oneself worthy of being banned? Undecided

That is a moderately funny story.

what did you say?

Something about liking the 30 minute ban for swearing. I have no idea why he deleted it...

what ? to post #6, he said something like "he want to do this as an experiment to see what words he could get away with."

I thought I had said something wrong again, so I instinctively deleted it.

it takes a LOT to get banned!

first you get a warning, then you get muted, then you get kicked.

are you SURE you were banned? what was your username?

Yeah, you can't use offensive language anywhere on the site. If I'm reading this right, you used offensive language in the chat window after your opponent had left the game (live chess)? I believe the reason for the ban is because your opponent could have gone back into the game and seen your commentary. Most websites that monitor language have a program that scans for particular words. Once it finds them, it follows a client behavior protocol, such as banning the offender for a certain period of time.

Chess.com has to follow strict guidelines because some of our members are under the age of 18 and as such, chess.com has a responsibility to both the minors parents, not to mention other chess.com members that may not like offensive language. Chess.com has the miserable task of trying to make everyone happy while still maintaining some sense of civility and structure. It's a thankless job for the staff!

I'm curious as to who that is directed at.

Would you like to hear what I'm saying in the bedroom as well? I bet that would get me banned as well, if that's your genious plan. Your participation on this topic doesn't really contribute in making this website a better place. I'm having a hard time not ripping on your username which is rather exposed for offensive creativity.
