Blocking someone in-game still shows their messages in game view on mobile

i recently played a game against a very toxic player. They sent me angry messages telling me to hurry up, even though we were playing a lengthy game format. I blocked this player, but any new messages they sent still appeared above the game board over their name for a few seconds. Is there a way to disable these messages for only the toxic players I encounter? I want to be notified of nice messages of people I have not blocked.
