Blog Post Problems

Okay, I have been having several problems with my "Topic of the Day-11/19/11-The 2-move checkmate, or "The Fool's Mate." There are like 2 or 3 problems with my blog post and I will give them to you:

  1. One of my diagrams shows up like it does, when you paste it, before you post it.
  2. Whenever I edit that problem to try and fix that, and then submit my changes, it stays the same at the bottom, but at the top, it changes. I made those changes at the top, so I don't think you should focus on the top.

Okay, here is the link to that blog post, if you want to see that problem for yourself, scroll all the way to the bottom of that blog post:

If you have any ideas about why that is happening, please comment here! I would appreciate your comments and I will be sending an e-mail to the Chess.com Help and Support team.

Are you using the board icon on the toolbar to enter those games or the Analysis Editor?

Yes, I am using the board icon on the toolbar to enter the diagram, but I am not using the Analysis editor.

Ok, it looks to me as if there aren't enough line spaces between board 1 & 2. Try editing the blog, then adding a few more space lines between them see if that corrects it for you.

I can't tell about 3 yet as i'd need to edit your post / board to see how you added it.

Well, I did try to edit it and put some spaces between it, but when I pressed, "Submit my changes" it didn't do anything when I went back to my blog post. I will try to edit it again.

I tried to edit it again, but it didn't work. When I went to edit it, right below the diagram, it said "Space Holder." I deleted that, and I put 2 spaces below the diagram and I put 1 space between my paragraph and my signature: -BlueGator456. Should I have left the words "Space Holder" there and then press the "Submit my changes" without doing anything?

I just noticed that when I go into "edit" mode to edit that blog, whatever spaces I have put before have appeared above the diagram. When I exit out of "edit" mode, they are not there. I thought that would be useful information for you.

OK i've corrected it to a certain extent.  The text is a little off but the boards now work.

When you're creating these, are you adding first text, then game then writing in next block of text then adding next game?

Of are  you adding the games and pasting the text between them later?

Well, first of all, thanks for fixing it, kohai. When I created the diagrams, I added the text first, then arranged all of the pieces.

I know about this adding "space" glitch in blog posts, I had struggled with it for a lot of time, and here's the the workaround:

When you hit enter, you go down a line, right?

OK. After that, go *up* to that blank line, and hit your "space bar" on your keyboard for several times, as if you are "claiming" that blank line.

You need to "claim the blank line" with your space bar for every blank line between your paragraphs and diagrams. After that, your blank spaces will appear. This is a 100% working solution, I have written many blogs in my time. Smile

This might also be a good opportunity for the glitch to be fixed by staff. Smile

Okay, thanks. I think this forum would be helpful to all Chess.com members and the Chess.com staff.
