alphanumeric = only letters and numbers. i think dashes (-) and underscores (_) allowed too. Have fun blogging!

When I try to rename my blog it keeps telling me that I can only use alphanumeric numbers for the URL, why is this? I just wanted to change my user and I don't know what an alphanumeric number is... can someone help me?
