can't get 'open seeks' on v3

I used to get most opponents using 'open seeks' on v2 but on v3 I can't find it. The 'open challenges' button that sounds as though it might be meant to do the same thing just gives a circulating pattern of little squares for ever. How do I find open seeks please?

Open Challenges is what you want. It should show you a seek graph, similar to what you get in v2.

Here is what is shows right now:

Thanks for this info, but I've never seen a graph like this. My v2 seeks were just in a list  of user names  that I could choose from. Perhaps I need to upgrade something which maybe why it's not working for me on v3.  Any ideas please?

v2 defaulted to showing the graph, if I'm not mistaken. v3 is a bit different.

If you look at that image above, see the little stopwatch on the upper-right? In v3 you should see that in the right panel. Click that icon or click on the Open Challenges. That is exactly what you should get.

If you don't, then you probably include the OS you are running on, the browser and the browser version. Might be something that is conflicting there. I use a version of Firefox and it works well (except some weird bugs).

Also, if you have third-party plugins or browser tool-bars, it is possible one of them might cause issues.

thanks again Martin Stahl. I have been using internet explorer and the 'open challenges' just refused to load. I've now tried Chrome and on v3 I do now at least get a list, so I can get to the open seeks. It's not such an easy-to-use list as on v2 though. There is still no sign of that graph on either version however. Had no idea there was such a thing until I saw your screenshot!

You know,  I was making an assumption this whole time.  That picture I posted was for Live.

I should have realized you were talking about Daily/correspondence. That should show you a list.

Are got by chance using Windows 10?

not 10, I'm on 8.1.  Seems to me it's internet explorer that's the problem. In the past though I've always found IE more forgiving than chrome, and it's given no problems for me with chess.com until now. I'm happy thoughto move to chrome now it seems to work where IE fails.

OK, I don't need the graph, but without your help I wouldn't have had a clue how to try to sort things.

Thanks for the advice Martin: I too was struggling with the new lay-out of the site (even if I find it more attractive than the old one).

Just in case there's any doubt, here's where you find the "Open Challenges" button, which I think you'll find at this link: https://www.chess.com/daily ...
