Can't block people anymore

I'm facing a serious problem: I can't block people.
Whenever I try to block a random user, it says, "User could not be blocked."
It's been three days since I contacted Chess.com staff, but they haven't responded yet, and there is no estimate time on when they will.
I need an answer already, i'm liable to do something drastic
