i cant seem to invite my friend to a game of fog of war. everytime i put their name in the text box and press play, it just challenges a completely random person instead. how do i invite a friend?

Your friend has to be logged in and have the variants page opened. Then the site will find him. I think the current behaviour is misleading because it is not clear when your opponent is not found and that he has to be online, too.
