Hi everyone, i'm new at chess.com and everything's fine when i play gainst cpu, but when i play live or online chess i can't move pieces, as soon as i right click a piece and try to move it to start the game, it gets out of the board, i try to put it in another square but it goes back to its initial place, it doesn't work either by clicking the piece and then it's destination, i'm loosing points because of that, what can i do?

What browser are you using?  Google Chrome is the best for Chess.com Smile

Sometimes when web sites don't act right in IE (I have windows 7 and IE 10), you can click on the broken link image in the address / URL bar, just to the left of the refresh circlar arrow, and it may or may not help:

I'm using google chrome, and i have a windows 7, it's most likely a problem with my cpu rather than the site, i'll try the link, thanks to all :)

Make sure you clear your cookies and temporary internet files fairly often, it keeps the browser "tuned up" :)

Thanks, i will try that.

I played some Live Chess last night, for the first time in three years, and I encountered this bug as well.  A game starts; you try to move your pieces and the interface will not accept the move.  Just keeps jumping them back to the original square as if you were making an illegal move.  It happened for me two games in a row.  After that, I disconnected from Live Chess and re-launched it, and everything was fine.  I'm using Google Chrome, and I didn't disable any extensions or anything -- just re-launched.  If your staff is interested, I'd be happy to provide more detail about my activity before and during the error.

FYI, I've never seen anything like this in Online Chess in six years of membership.

Run a browser "tune up":

http://screencast.com/t/mjUqWdBo

In the browser bar, enter: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData

1. Select the items you want to clear:

Cached Images and files

Cookies and other site and plug-in data

2. Choose the period of time for which you want to clear cached information.

To clear your entire cache, select:  the beginning of time.

3. Click "Clear Browsing Data".

Check your browser extensions, are you running any?

chrome://extensions/

Disable all of them and try again :)

Yay!!

Norton is a beast :)

Try adding them back on, one a time; then try and play Live again.  You can find out which one is causing the problem.

And then let me know, so we can try and work around them; or at least be more informed Smile

Right click? I left click and/or drag.
