Also, can I ever dispute results when I lose like this?
Can't move pieces when my own counter is ticking

Hi, I'm new to chess.com, but I've lost 3 Rapid games so far due to these issues lately. Do these happen often? These seem to have something to do with laggy servers, but I'm not sure:
- I can't move pieces when my own clock is ticking down, and my king isn't being threatened
- My opponent's clock is ticking down, so I wait ages for them to make a move. But chess.com shows I lost the game due to timeout
- Neither my clock nor my opponent's is ticking down. I can't make a move. But chess.com shows I lost the game due to timeout.
- My internet connection works fine loading other websites, or even chess.com's own forums and help pages
Someone suggested my opponents could be using hacks. Is this possible?
You opponent can't impact your connection, since the client do not directly communicate and your opponent can't get your connection details.
Clearing your browser cache may help and some of the information in the following may help.

Also, if you are playing in /online, you might try /live instead to see if that works better for you.
