castling fails

I've played many years on a board and know when castling is allowed but chess.com won't allow me to castle in those situations.  I tried clicking king and then rook, I tried moving the king to the rook's position, I tried several other things.  All failed.

After moving pieces out of the way:

To castle kingside, move your king 2 spaces to the right and the rook will follow.

To castle queenside, move your king 2 spaces to the left.

Thanks much!  I was taught many years ago to castle by moving the rook to the king and then hopping the king over the rook.  Same result, I realize.
