Castling Move Technical Issue

For the last few games, I have not been able to castle. When I try, the game doesn’t make the move. I have checked to ensure I wasn’t putting the King in jeopardy by doing so, or that he wasn’t already in check. Anyone else having the same issues?

The site has changed castling to remove the ability to click the king and then the rook to castle, at least by default. If that is what you're trying to do you need to change the Castling Method under Settings > Board and Pieces to Legacy from Normal.

Thank you! Why would they tell us that? I don’t have any notification about such a change. It sure was a frustration in some games!

There was a alert that would come up for a while after it was released that explained the castling changes.

The new castling method has become automatic in user settings. Even if they didn't want it. After the changes, you could write a notice to all users that if the new castling method does not suit you, you can return the old castling method, and everything will be as it was. My personal opinion is that the new castling method is inconvenient.

When the castling method changed there was a notification about it but originally the old method was completely removed. I'm not sure there was a new notification when adding in the option to allow the old method again.

With your Elo I don’t think your excuse for losing is castling.

There’s no need to be rude. I didn’t say anything about excuses. There are so many rude people on this site. Chirping and insulting in games, in forums when someone is trying to learn… I hope you feel really big about yourself by putting people down.
