  Is there a way to create a live chess challenge from within a group for members of that group?

  Ok, so would the only way round this be to add as friends and head to the live chess section then ?

  Yes, that's the only way.

  If you suggest to chess.com staff on that live chess team match, then you have the chance to play it if they had approved.
