I have it on Good authority some of you said you would leave if version 3 happened.

Hey, I have a tangential question - feel free to ignore it.  I asked this of Staff, and got a warm, interested response and a reasonable speculation, but I'm still puzzled.

Sometimes, when I'm trying out moves in Analyze, the square I tentatively move to turns red or orange.  When it does, I can sometimes see it's a potential blunder, but not always (me not really good player, so no surprise there).   Rarely, there's an orange arrow telling me a different place to move -- the last one was obvious, since I'd meant to move my pawn 2 spaces, and slipped on my keyboard and just moved it one.

Doesn't this feedback constitute "involuntary cheating?"  And why does this happen to me & not others I've asked?   Does it mean I'm "special?" (Rhetorical question-- Do not answer!)

this topic is not for your spam.

mil, i have seen the type of analysis you speak of. a few mouse clicks on the board have gotten rid of the unwanted arrows. my take was that the error was on my end, since it was easy to get rid of.

writing "feel free to ignore it" is unnecessary, for what should be obvious reasons.

During an ongoing daily or live game, you can draw orange arrows and mark squares red by right clicking. That’s not analysis. It’s just a way to highlight possible moves or squares. They’re designed for streamers to explain their moves, strategies, and ideas to their audiences.

Yup!

Hello General I'm also glad to see you are still here. The funny thing is even if you don't like V3 Chess.com is still the best on the internet and very addicting hard to stay away happy.png LOL

riker, please tread lightly when referencing other sites. david had a touchy locking finger about this in one of my other topics.

to your point of cc being the best, it is subjective. even if cc is better than others, it does not mean there are not bugs and issues where customers deserve answers.

I'm still wondering WHY the Chess Board size is smaller than the Move History window size.  The answer we were given - FutureWare.  Still wondering .. 🤔🤔

Greengooner

I agree Spacebux !

a moment ago i received this notification in live chess:

You are unable to challenge Titled and other protected players until you have played more games.

i had clicked on a seek from a 1300 player, and i've played well over 1000 games in my almost ten years here, so, what gives?

AlCzervik

same issue as #73 happened again.

who is in charge here? anyone? or, is the site just all automation now?

kco

The Help and Support Dept. has been sub-contracted out to the India's people.

Thanks for the info, manekapa.

I've been complaining about the board size for a while. Literally every change Chess.com had rolled out has been one failure after another. I will NOT be renewing my membership. The development team is running this site to the ground.

AlCzervik

i think it needs to be noted that this issue is being ignored as we get "flair" and a count of moves.

jd, care to comment?

Spacebux

If @David were here, he would remind us to be thankful the Dev Team bestowed us with the Total Moves count.  🙄🙄

@Martin_Stahl would likely remind us that not everyone agrees with us wanting answers. 🙄🙄

And, the rest of us are left wondering why simple questions go un-answered as the thread is closed for <pick_a_non-sequitor_reason>.  STAFF work in mysterious ways at Chess.com.
