you don't necessarily need the chat tab. If you hover over @C9_Narwhal name it should show something like this:

I tried clicking that option but it didn't work. It just flashed white but it didn't work

that happened to me too. but magically the chat worked. have no clue how it worked
Been like this for around 20 days for me
Its Happened 2 me and I email Support@chess.com they did somthing and it fixed up when they emailed me
thanks. I'll contact them if the problem arises again. The chat works for now
