cheating with time

Has just happened to me a few minutes ago so assuming must be a computer glitch in the software. I played a move which left 6 mins 45sec and the other persons clock ran down to zero and then eventually when the end of game box came up it was me that had ran out of time.. The internet is fine here so should be a problem.
[public accusations not allowed -- MOD] somehow disconnected without the screen showing any disconnection and time going down and i was not allowed any move . Next minute came back with him winning on time! How did he do that? My side had connection but nothing ticked on.
