I noticed this too. I was beating up to 850 and 1000 pretty often and today they were kicking my butt. Maybe it's more in line with real human 850 and 1000 rated players that also kick my butt.
Chess bots on app playing way above their reported level.
At first I though there is something wrong with me. Normally I was competing with bots at level 1100-1300 but one day I started loosing completely. So I checked easier bot, and once again, I lost. I went down even to the easiest one, to have a quick win and repair my morale. But after loosing with 250 rated bot I started to be suspicious. I've opened chess.com on the computer and this time I won easily xD So now I know, that is not my brain vaporized, but some kind of issues with bot level.

I like to think of it as Martin taking revenge for all those times I've underpromoted 7 Bishops and checkmated with them

I'm very disappointed as I have just purchased a premium membership, mainly for the ability to play up to 25 puzzles. Now, with this bug, I'm being given puzzles which are miles above my skill rating and I'm getting practically all of them wrong, there's no point in even trying them. What a waste of money it seems, surely this should have been fixed by now?
It's fixed in the beta build on Play. Enable beta, then update. They're back to playing like beginners who forget to take pieces rather than someone you slug it out with for 50+ moves. I did beat one of the bugged ones and I'm curious as to what the strength was. It certainly seemed harder than the best Tomas can throw at me.
I got this from support earlier and it works:
"I'm so sorry for the delayed response--we've been receiving a record number of requests in recent weeks ! Following a technical issue in the Chess.com Android app, Komodo and other Bots inadvertently got a little buffed (must have been hitting the free weights). My colleague Nick was trying to beat the 250 bot and was SWEATING. The developers are on it though and a fix is currently in Beta testing. To get this resolved right away so you can get back to crushing the bots, please join the Chess.com Beta program! Here's how. First visit the Chess.com page in Google Play on your device:
https://play.google.com/store/
Next, scroll down and click Join underneath the heading Join the beta: Screenshot It will take a few minutes to load, and then you will need to click Update from the same page within the Google Play store to have the fully updated beta version! The lower-level Bots should be back to their blundering ways! The other cool thing about being in the Chess.com beta program is that you have first access to new features right as they are implemented!"
I have a similar problem. I'm facing a 250 bot, yet it plays harder than 1500 bots I've played against.

I usually play bots between 1500-2000 and win/lose fairly evenly, now even the 250 bot is destroying me. I thought I might have had a stroke or something.

Komodo level 8 has a rating of almost 1000, now > 1600. Lost four rated games in a row. The bot does not make mistakes.
Yes! I was having fun with this app, paid up to continue and then boom, seemed to lose my mojo. Thought I was being gamed to buy the app, and then finding out I sucked after all! I did join to get better and I do like to challenge myself, but when you can't win one single game well... it's not really much fun anymore.

I almost win against the 400 girl robot. I think at some point I reached 1800+ on my performance . now that I know they are broke I feel better.
I thought I suddenly forgot everything I have been learning in the last few months. When I couldn't beat Wayne the very first bot. Good to know it's not just me having this problem 😂
all the bots are mad broken it seems
