Hello,
I normally wouldn't be posting this on the forum but the support hasn't gotten back to me and I am really upset about this. Please give me any kind of help.
While I was just playing puzzles on my phone, I got a notification that my login was invalid and then got booted out. When I tried to log back in, it said that there was no account under the username/email I use, and when I tried to reset the password the email was one which was unfamiliar to me. From what I can tell, someone gained access to my account and changed the email. I didn't receive any form of notification about this change in the email that was registered to the account. When I checked the profile, the person had changed the username, country, and profile picture to a picture of Pepe the Frog as a Nazi. I contacted support immediately but I haven't gotten a response from them in the last few days. I don't know how this happened because I have never logged into my account on a public computer, only my laptop and phone, and have never given my password to anyone (the password is also unique to chess.com so I doubt anyone had access to any of my other accounts).
After checking the account again later, they had played a series of bullet games which raised my elo significantly, and then a few hours later the account was closed for fair play violations. I have been a diamond member and have played hundreds of games on my account as well as thousands of puzzles and have never once cheated before.
Here is the account: https://www.chess.com/member/peplto1
And here is the last game I played myself before the hacker got access to the account: https://www.chess.com/game/live/28681782527?username=peplto1 (it is against my roommate who I have played dozens of games against in the past if you check the history).
Prior to a few days ago, my username was kaboomkp, and my elo for pretty much all time controls was ~750.
I am posting this from an alternate account I just made in order to get someone from Chess.com's attention. Is there any way you can tell that it wasn't logged in from an IP near me, or that the email and password was randomly changed hours before several cheated games were played on my account? And why don't you send email notifications when the email address is attempted to be changed? I don't really care about the elo as I can make a new account and get back to the same level easily, but I was a diamond member with a lot of games and it upsets me to see the progress on that account wiped, especially when it wasn't something which was my fault.
Thanks in advanced.
That sounds terrible. I am forwarding your post to support to see if we can get quicker help.
