Chess.com banned my wife

MY wife was banned and she was absolutely not cheating. Chess if a female however and we think chess.com is targeting. At a minimum we want a refund for the hassle of this and better reinstatement with an apology. If anyone cares they can see the games and plainly this is not a computer user. This appears to be an absurd ban for apparently committing the crime of being female and good at chess. She has received plenty of toxic messages and aborted games. It is really sad that this still is what the chess world has to offer in 2025. FIX it chess.com. Crazy that you are targeting someone (again not the first time you have done this to women players) who has proven herself winning FIDE online events and no cheating history.

There’s no way this was some targeted attack. Must have been some mistake. Just go for an appeal I guess.

Perhaps you should message them, there has to be a reason.

Seems very heavy handed for the site to ban a member with 150+ achievements without a specific explanation and a formal process to appeal. I hope you get it sorted.

ElijahLogozarStudent

why is she higher rated than you at blitz

I think thye said fair play, I really want to know more about this

BigChessplayer665

And no bullet either

You should ask ccheater forum to do a stats analysis of time management

Elijah are you suggesting that a woman player can not break 2600 ? Also since you are clearly trying to cause trouble, you do know I have broken 2700 many many times. So what is your point ?

She got banned after playing this game and chess.com wants her to sign a document that admits to cheating. It is pure madness. https://www.chess.com/game/live/138756235444?username=kmboor

If could been this game https://www.chess.com/game/live/138680330472?username=kmboor&move=60

Ok both with 95% accuracy, and both of them banned, most likely it was that game, and at least one was probably cheating.

It is beyond stupid that whether or not a player plays bullet determines if they are a cheater. You people really are silly and a bunch of conspiracy theorists. The truth is that you can get banned for any possible reason including being a female and being good at chess. It has happened before! The best I can figure is that since she was playing on a phone there might have been a flag for her being on two devices....maybe. Or is it because a bunch of butt hurt toxic male players auto report her for cheating just because they get crushed in a chess game. The sad part is that I have been encouraging her to play OTB and promising that no, no the chess world really is not a petty toxic good old boy club where jealous cronies do everything they can to pull you down to their level.

I'm not so sure they factor in female or male in wether or not they get banned it's a algorithm :/

They probably don't, if they did, the whistleblowers would cook them. People are very paranoid about this stuff.

Nah I think she just got reported I didnt see anything in Cheater forum it would popped up I get accused occasionally still not banned tho even a couple cheater forumembers are like "bro your sus " completely ignoring my 20k+ games ...

I dunno what caused the algorithm to do it but it was prob the game I posted

If she really wasn't cheating you can prob sue

GMBoorchess

mid game she said there was a banner saying abuse of server and time out for 30 min.

They occasionally restart your server, but that is weird, as @BigChessplayer665 said, you could prob sue if you are sure she didn't cheat.

Mid-KnightRider

I am really sorry to hear this.

xRadical6x

anyone else read that in the borat voice?? haha just me maybe lulz :3

Well, I suppose this the problem with relying on a private website to play chess: they can ban you if they want, and you can do nothing about it. Unless if you can convince Chess.com that your wife didn't cheat, the only thing left to do is to switch to lichess.

If you are 100% sure that they banned her for being a talented female player, and not for cheating etc, then you could take them to court and make some good money, I guess? I think I remember Danny R saying on YouTube that they only ban people if they're 99% sure they are cheating, but who knows.

As she is a woman and people are paranoid on this you could prob. win.
