Chess.com banned my wife

This bothers me because I've seen kmboor post in the forums and never in a million years would I think she would even consider cheating let alone actually do it. Chess.com needs to appreciate that banning someone can be distressing and this issue needs to be addressed by senior management who can actually take positive action.

It's also strange to get to 2600 in I know you don't realize how good they are since your not at that level but even 2000 is pretty tough to try to in a year it's possible but it requires an insane amount of grinding not just a good coach which if they haven't done otb that much how have they played enough games ? And the amount of games are under 10000 which just seems very odd to me
Either there's some alt where she practiced on before hand or it's pretty suspicious (even if she didn't cheat )

Cause she talks ? People on cheater club sometimes claim they hate cheaters but cheat anyway there was a guy recently who complained about cheating while not understanding how to convert a rook endgame with INCRRMENT up 20 seconds and got banned(they both cheated )
I'm very neutral in this matter
Shouldv asked more about her understanding of chess I could have made a better judgment
But the games themselves are strangly not odd at all even a little bit accept for that one game against a 1400 at least out of the ones I looked at

I don't know man. The more you talk about how wonderful your wife is, the more suspicious she becomes. It is simply not impossible to reach 2600 in 6 months, even if you were to grind chess for 12 hours a day. I think that it is far likelier that your wife is cheating, than her being the second coming of Magnus Carlsen.

I appreciate what you're saying but my point is that from what I've seen of kmboor's posts I do not see someone who I could imagine resorting to violating site terms to win. It just doesn't make sense. Does the fact that her husband is a titled player and is utterly disgusted over this debacle make a difference to how this should be handled? Absolutely.

I wonder how common false positive cheating bans actually are with the algorithm? How exactly do computers determine "very good" moves from "Not human at all - that's one of mine" moves?

Most of the high rated players :makes sense
Low rated players(some) :what what huh??!?!
All seriousness I bet if they wanted to show off they might cheat even if it's unintentional I wouldn't say it had to be ill intention

That's another point is sometimes prodogies get banned even if they didn't cheat and chess.com doesn't really disclose their cheating algorithm so we don't know

We heard back from chess.com today. The reason she was banned was due to shooting up in rating, but not any causation of using a computer (becasue she was not). For all of you who think reaching 2600 in blitz is some impossible milestone for a first year player...well you just do not understand chess and what is possible. I have taught chess and been in chess since 1983. Did you ever consider what is possible if you lived and breathed the same air as a master level coach ? Rapid improvement is rare, but it is totally possible. Maybe someday we will stream Kelly playing chess or maybe someday we will get chessbus.org operational with some backing to take the time to develop her talent. It is really sad that the chess world is so over crowded with toxic haters, but not surprising at all. We will keep you posted on the case. And to the guy being critical of the game she played against a 1400....how ironic is that ? She played this game to be nice to some guy from a forum and she crushed him beautifully and of course this is now used against her as an example of cheating. I warned her about giving any attention to these forums because I already know....wait here I am.

It wasn't that they crushed them I was just pointing out the games that could've been suspicious relax dude im just saying what games could've trigged the cheat detection im not even saying they 100% cheated its not like a 2600 doesnt typically beat a 1400 anyway :/
I'm not even saying it's impossible to have that happen it's just super super unlikely hense why that happened
Ps:not everyone who's not siding with you is against you I would recommend not trying to guilt trip them Im trying to figure out a way to run a pgn analyse to see what exactly might have triggered it but I don't have any cheat detection software so...

No your not listening. Chess.com reached out. It is not due to computer assisted play. It is due to being too good at chess. Yeah, it is that lame that they have no other way in place other than to ban an account for fair play regardless of what is going on.

I understand that part I'm just curious if a system (even is it's not chess.coms ) detected something but not good enough to ban . Don't these things happen occasionally anyway there was a gm that was banned and alyreza got banned before do this not like it's not possible I bet this would've happened like 3 months later even if she didn't get spam reported

Very weird. Do they have some kind of ceiling where any player above x rating who is not a titled player gets an automatic ban or something then, even if computer doesn't detect anything suspicious? Or how does that work?

Its difficult to line of epxlian cuar ryou can open a new account and prob not get banned if your 2600 ish but it's more like for example if your 800 elo and are 1600 puzzles but then jump to 2000 but your still 1600 puzzles this case is different but that's kind of what it is
So even if they don't detect anything in some cases it's obvious this one not so much
