Access from germany again very slow 21102025 21:00.

The culprit are in fact not the chess.com servers but the Telekom Internet Service Provider. Their network is not up to the task.

As a workaround I bypass their insufficient peering node with a VPN.

It is very sad, that this is necessary.

I recommend everybody experiencing slow access in germany during rush hours to use a VPN to troubleshoot and reveal their real cause for their pain: Telekom

The other providers I tested use the Telekom infrastructure by the way. So if you like to use a different ISP as a workaround, make sure at least they are not only Telekom resellers.
