Chess.com app freezes since update

I'm cancelling my chess.com membership. I loved it in conjunction with the app, but when your rating drops ~150 points in a day due to a constant freezing app, on a Galaxy S4 that runs PERFECT with any other app.  It's the chess.com app, and it's happening on everyone's phone.

 

Anyone else having this happen?  Im heartbroken to lose my fav app but it's killing my game and rating.

Sorry you're having troubles with the app! Can you please try a fresh install of the app (including clearing out the app data) to see if that helps?

I'm finding problems synchronising the tactics trainer between the app and a PC.  If my tactics trainer rating is lower on my tablet than on a PC but then I improve my rating on a PC I find that when I next use the app it doesn't recognise my improved score, so if I again revert to a PC my rating on the PC has gone down to its previous low score.  I don't have any problems if I use my tablet and a PC concurrently for online play. Perhaps there is a setting on my tablet I need to activate to improve synchronisation, or is there just a fault in the app as far as tactics trainer is concerned? Can anyone advise, please?  But love chess.com generally!

@Frankem51- Are you using the Android app or the iOS app? Do you log out in between uses?

Hi, I'm having trouble with the app too. I uninstalled it twice and reinstalled yesterday but it still didn't work. It  crashed as soon as I tried to make a move. Just cleared the data as you suggested and I thought it was working, but I'm afraid it isn't! I have the laptop on as well, and can see that it is my move in four games, but they aren't showing up on the app.

They showed up after ten minutes, I looked at one game, tried a move, changed my mind :) and now the game has disappeared on the app! It's not on the list for 'my move' or 'their move' ! :) Tried the same thing with another game and the same thing happened again.

Please can you help. I play most of my games on the app usually.

I'm playing on a PC and have had a few games lost because of some systems failure - I think.

Both the clocks start flashing ... mine is sometimes ticking down but there are no moves allowed as the board is hung

I am constantly dealing with  freeze ups on a blazing fast gaming PC ASUS with good internet connection.

Something in your program is not working right.  I've been having to bring up another chess.com screen to have it ready to click play to take my next move.  I'm seeing comments from many people with this same problem.  Thanks.

Same problem here.  I’ve been playing some games with the computer and it would randomly freeze the app.  It did the same thing when I did a self-analysis for one of my games.  Now the app just freezes at startup.

Yepp, same for me. The app have started to freeze when ending a game. It also freezes when starting the app and trying to scroll down the page. Restarting the game and not scrolling but just starting a game often work.

yep same for me ...tried  three diffrent browerers  saffarri chrome and firefox  , not my computer , running a mac trashcan fully loaded

I'm having freezes during my game, the game is slowing, my mouse can't even move, the time clock stops, and when i try to move the piece, it freezes. It's not about my computer because when i go to my other tab (youtube for music) it works perfectly fine, the mouse is smooth, but back to the game, it freezes like horrible, I'm about to qui chess.com

chess.com start running adds. when they load it can hang or run up your memory usage to make moves very slow and stop responding once memory is full. if they don't fix it you have to sign up for a membership.

i had a membership and money is not worth it. and strong arming me with adds is not giving me the yes feeling.

I’m also having problems with a freezing app on an iPad Pro. Found out that I need to remove the app from memory and reopen it. I will then get back into the same game to continue but with lost time. Also lost many games games today due to this problem.

It’s a real shame. Every time it happens the player who is about to lose, magically wins.
I’ve been losing something like 100 points in this way
