Why does it take years to get a response from the Chess Member Support? I have sent a reply to a message I got from a Support Assitanct and uptil now still have not gotten a reply. Today makes it 4 days. Your Support Services is one of the slowest that I have seen. I asked a question to the Support Services and got a different response. Then replied and still not responsed till date.

What do they do there? Answer a billion queries? It is frustratingly embarrassing to wait and wait to hear from them. Please I need urgent response!!!!!!!!!!!

Insulting the staff won't help you get the answer to your problem.

Why not post your problem here online like everyone else? It is surprising how frequently other members can offer help.

Where in my post did I insult them?

Let's solve your problem first. What is your problem that is so urgent?

I got a 10 day trial. Activated it and money was taken from my card. Question 1. Is it still a 10 day trial that I got billed for?

Question 2. If I cancel before the 10 days expire, will my money be refunded?

Question 3. If it is not a 10 day trial even though I got invitation from Chess.com that it is, can I have my money back please?

So I have contacted the Support Services since the 27th. However uptil now, I still have not heard from them again. Right away is it okay if I terminate the membership or wait to hear from them?

You didn't say when your trial started but I am pretty sure that they charge when you complete the 10 days and haven't canceled.

Have you canceled? There is a cancel button on the "My Account" page.

People are always freaking out about getting charged after the 10 days and it appears that nobody ever realizes that this will happen.

However, chess.com has made clear that as long as this is the first time you have done this and you cancel within 30 days (of the start) and write an email using their contact form asking for your money back, you will get it.

Here are some of the previous threads on this:

The 10 days is still valid. I will go and cancel now and see if I will get my money back. I have also sent them several emails, telling them to refund my money back.

I do not understand the concept of the 30 days money back. I have subscribed before for a year or more but have not requested money before. I have also not used the 30 day money back guarantee.

So I am still waiting for them. 4 days and still counting. Will cancel

Doesn't the above image prove that this isn't a 10 day trial? On the membership page, it says I have €87.81 of membership credit available for upgrades. Meaning this isn't a 10 day trial right?

The 10 day trial and the 30 day money back guarantee is supposed to be for new premium members.

If you have been a member before, I don't know if they will give you your money back.

That cancel notice you posted just says that your cancellation won't be effective until 9/24/2016.

I'm sure it won't help if you have written any emails insulting their customer service.

The "Stewie" avatar isn't likely to get you any sympathy either. Better change it to a nice looking kitten.

I hope you enjoy your premium membership.

If it is the first time he buys a membership and no more than 30 days have passed, he should get his money back. All the cases in which this happened, ended in getting their money back, as far as I know...

Yes, but it is not the first time. He has been a paid member previously.

If they give him his money back now, what's to stop him from running this scam again and again?

So why was I given a 10 day trial?

I don't think it was a conspiracy to catch a few former members. If I were you, I would calm down and wait for them to answer. They will answer. You will probably get your money back or at least most of it. (Wouldn't it be fair for them to charge you something-- perhaps the one month Diamond membership fee?)

Are you at least enjoying the Diamond Membership while it lasts?

Avatar of mmerson

Yes it would be fair of course. I do not mind at all. In the meantime let me enjoy the membership while they ponder when to reply. Thanks for your responses and sincere concern!

Looks like the membership symbol is gone. Did it all work out?

Avatar of mmerson

Yes. Waiting for the refund to reflect in my account.

Dear on duty, I hope this is the right place to ask this question, as this is the first time i submit one. Is there anyway to set the pieces on a chess board in a certain way then work it out from there vs the computer to see how to best continue the game afterwards. "Computer Workout" is a nice feature available on the site, but it goes off previously stored positions and not random positions that members can just make up. Reason for my question is that, i play real chess sometimes with friends "outside the site". When i come back home i would want to the enter either the full PGN of the game "to let the computer analyze it" or just any random position through the game "to continue it vs computer" and find best next moves.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if the 10 day free trial starts BEFORE the money thing, or AFTER. If after, then you would not be re-billed till 1 yr and 10 days.
