Chessnut Air compatible now with chess.com?

Hi guys,

Just a question. Some months ago I bought a Chessnut Air so that I was able to play my online games over the board at chess.com. I did so via the Chessnut app and it worked very easy and good.

But, after some games I received a restriction on my account. I didn't had any clue, contacted the chess.com support and they helped me very good. The stopped the restrictions and explained to me the chessnut software at that point wasn't compatible with the chess.com system and that's why I got the restrictions. They also told me to wait until this was fixed.

Can someone tell me if this is fixed already? Can I play my Chessnut Air on Chess.com without getting any account restrictions?

Please let me know! Thanks in advance!

As far as I'm aware nothing has changed.

I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but a few months ago there were some API changes made and Chessnut I believe got with them. I own 2 Chessnut boards, the air and the pro, and thus far it's been good. Played over 200 rapid games. But that's not gospel.

You don't have to use the Chessnut app. You can use the Chessconnect extension. Search for the thread in this forum.

Only if you're near a computer. I'm not near a computer a lot of the time when I'm playing. Chessconnect is a great plugin though!

The restriction was in playing tournaments, not regular games.

ChessLearnerPermit

Ohhhhhh I got you. I just played in a tournament through Chess Evolve group here on chess.com and it worked without any issue.

What is the chessconnec extension? Since the chess.com support adviced me to only use the chessnut app in stead of using extensions....

Unfortunately it is/was in regular games as well since I only did regular games on the board and no tournaments..

chessconnect.de. Or search the forum here. There is a long thread where the developer responds and tons of people are using it. If support told you not to use it then they gave you bad advice (not the first time).

I just got done playing using the chessconnect plugin for Chrome....it's so great to not have to tie it to the PC.

I use an android and an iPad to connect mobile though using the original chessnut app. The new one still seems broken to me.

Sorry, I don't understand (most likely it's my english). Do you play with chessconnect or the Chessnut app? And do you link the board via computer or iPad?
