Classroom question

Hi I opened a classroom to teach a friend, but can he make moves and can he switch the board to his way of seeing it if we play exercises against eachother? Or do I have to make his moves and reverse the board each time?

Yes, your student should be able to make moves, though there are some options for that. Check out https://www.chess.com/news/view/chesscom-releases-new-classroom-feature

Thanks,  the link is stuffed with verbiage and very little how-to specifics. On Chrome it hardly works, on Edge it seems to work, but now won't let me invite anyone, not even the guy I was with earlier. On Firefox same but it says I have to upgrade to invite a third. There  is only me on, it won't let me invite the second! Can someone explain how this thing works, without all the padding? Thanks.

Hosts with basic memberships are limited to one other member in the room.

I haven't had a chance to really use the feature, so don't know the specifics without additional testing.

Thanks but I have no other members in the room and it is talking about a third. I guess once a student has checked in once, you don't have to list or invite them, they just check in again. But I can't understand why this is not explained anywhere. Seems to be a policy of gradual revelation.

Under board notation. If both of my knights are in a position that either can move to the same square, what notation do I use the designate the knight I want to move to the common square? e.g. Ne6 doesn't specify which knight to move to e6.

You have to add something unique about the starting location.  So, if they're in different files, you add the file, if they're on different ranks but the same file, you use the rank.
