when i closed my alt account i had to use my password to confirm it

If your password manager doesn't recognize the form as being the chess.com password to automatically fill, you may need support help in that case.

You should have received an email on the address associated with the account about the closure along with your options.
You should also have received a form from staff in the past day. You should check your spam/junk folders.
