Do guys who do this get their accounts closed? Am curious if chess.com does anything about it.

Depending on the site, there sometimes exists a "Report to Administrator" function, that transfers to the Administrators/Moderators a time-stamped verbatim copy of the offensive posts. From that, depending on the rules of the site, the Admins can take the appropriate action.
Some sites are more proactive about preventing abuse than others.
I am too new here to know how these sorts of things are handled. It is difficult to take action on a report in public, because such things can be faked (not saying it is in this case).
There is no excuse for any verbal abuse, in my opinion.
Some people (usually from some specific countries) just tend to behave like that. I doubt anyone can change that.

A link to reporting (called "sending in a ticket") is given above. To find it for yourself click on "help and support" at the bottom of the page and then on "contact" at the top right.
Chess.cm does take action, quite quickly in my experience.
It is weird that there is so much of this. Mostly I think it is children. But even on that basis it is sad.
liVE CHESS.. the opponent had me waiting for 30 mins.. he didnt make a move.. and most probably was about to face a check mate in 2 moves.. he didnt resign either.. he had me waiting for the whole time.. checking his profile i found he does this with every single player he plays with..

Unfortunately there are a lot of aholes who do such things. Perhaps they think they will become as good as Kasparov by copying some of his childish actions(against a 16 year old Radjabov). What these idiots don't realise is that they can only replicate the negative aspects of the Kasparov's personality.
