Is this issue going to be ever fixed? This is spoiling the whole fun of it. AI starts thinking infinitely.

We're about to add the fix to it.

I'm the guy who suggested playing as black then switchings sides.  It stopped the computer thinking at first, It used to happen in the first three moves, but now I'm with a lot of you poor bastards who get it just before you are going to win.  I tell myself its like the computer conceding defeat, but it's not the same as seeing it in writing.  It seems a lot harder to win now.  I used to win playing the hardest leve  now I have trouble winning at the basic level.  Admittedly I play while watching TV but sometimes, I like to play without concentrating to much.  Why did they stray from a winning formula, and ignore us, the devoted fans of this site? I am most disappointed.  Does anyone feel the same?

Actually I agree with you in the sense that AI is not easy to be beaten even at 1200 . I was able to beat it using both colors more than couple of times. But,couldnt beat it yet at 1600 level. It plays really tough.

Just curious. What is the exact technical issue you guys are facing with it? Is it some  application bug, some sort of backend database problem? What kind of platform does the site run on btw? LAMP stack + Java?

We've just added a fix for the 'against the computer' issues members have been experiencing.

Can you go into computer chess, look on the bottom right corner of your monitor. Can you click on the java icon then Open Control Panel.

Once this is open, use the bottom box where it says 'Settings'  - when that new box opens, click where it says 'delete files'.
Then OK

Once you've done this, refresh the page.

Sometimes the java icon is turned off from appearing in the tray.  If you're running windows....

start button/control panel/java/advanced/miscellaneous/check box "Place icon in system tray"

Also try clearing your cache, and even your java cache. see: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/plugin_cache.xml

Then try 'against the computer' for me.  If you're still having issues on there can you please let me know in detail whats happening.

Thanks
