Create a live tournament

is it possible to create a live tournament with a premium membership account?

If yes please how to?

User created Live tourneys are not currently possible. I read a post quite a while back that was something that might happen in the future. My guess is that if it happens it will be tied to groups.

That would be a great addition Martin, I hope it happens someday. Many groups will be delighted with that option ;)

I think it would be a good idea, especially if we could create rapid tournaments and restrict them somehow to try to keep engine users away. Rapid variants may be a good idea too.

Club based, member created, Live tourneys are now available. If you have a private club, you can control who can play in them.

So far members haven't been too interested,but I may play in them one day.Can we create custom trophies for live tournaments?

No, you just get the site based trophies I think.

Also, unless something changed recently, they will only show up for members in the default site, not on v2.

You don't.  You advertise it and the start time in your club and your members need to get on live within an hour of the start time and join.

The site is testing Arena tourneys, though I don't know if they will be available to clubs, but they are still scheduled and you would still need to advertise.

If you advertise in the club forums and are consistent, you might get more people playing.

I'm an admin of a club with 1,200+ members. We have 5 tourneys a week, in the same schedule and we are lucky now to to get 30 in the more popular time controls. Normally it is 15 to 20. Of course, most our members are US based and our schedule caters to that and mostly evenings. And we have been running the same schedule for over two years.
