Creating a Table

I posted this question in the wrong forum. When I play live chess someone automatically sits down at my table before I have a chance to invite anyone. Why isn't there a simple "Create Table" button? How do I simply create a table where no one can join unless I specifically ask them?
I know this sounds stupid for someone who understands game sites but it really is confusing/frustrating for some like me who have read the faq's and other instrtuctions but can't seem to understand it. I would like to invite friends to this site and invite them to my table but can't seem to get the way it works. Thanks for any help.
