Creating Tournaments

Hello

I am a basic member who wants to create a tournament with less than 7 people. It says here: http://support.chess.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/85/0/how-do-membership-levels-free-vs-premium-affect-access-to-tournaments that I can do this when I am not in a different member created tournament, but I always get this message when I try:You must become a premium member to host tournaments on Chess.com. If you would like run a tournament, upgrade your account now!.

Could someone please clear this up for me,

Thanks

I think that only states how many tournaments you have access to and not how many you can run.  As free members, we can only participate in one member-created tournament.  And as free members, we don't have the priviledge to run our own tournaments.

The table seems to be pretty clear about free members being able to host a single tournament, though...

Maybe you just can't create one right now because you're in another member created tournament at the same time? The error message text may simply be a bit "off" or inaccurate in this case.

Basic members could create one tournament. This was changed quite some time ago.

The help topic is incorrect.
