Disconnection

I am disgusted over games i should have not lost but i was disconnected intentionally, i dont know if that is by our server, your system, or my opponent's manipulation. Is there a means of going back to unfinished games after disconnection? I tried several time to reconnect but when i got connected i already lost the games.

I never had that happen, but sometimes i feel "disconnected"  from life....when it happens e-mail technical support and give them details as to time it happened and in which game, they may be able to tell if problem is due to chess.com. and if it is  they may readjust the damage to your ratings...

I doubt it was the opponent's doing... there is just no way for him to disconnect you easily. I mean he can probably DDoS you but that's a lot of work just to win some chess game.

Since you're in the Philippines, I think that the connection there is just harder to come by. I've heard a lot of people complain about live chess from the Philippines.

Btw I'm Filipino! Kamusta ka?!

Thank kabayan, it is gladdening to know that a Filipino is behind this great site.  Of course i did not expect a perfect site, especially because i am getting it for free.  The thing is most of those disconnection happen when i am about to win, or my opponents are in difficult positions and about to lose.

But if i enroll in one of these paid subscription can i expect to have a better treatment? or shall be say, will those disconnections stop? If this is due to our location here in the Phils., then i think it is not wise to get a paid subscription.

Bitaw is a Bisayan word, where are from in Cebu (Visayas)?

Daghang salamat kabayan.

Dear Pahol,

I am also a new comer to this web site-which is otherwise a great site-and I am facing the same frustrating problem.I am a strong player,I play fast but again and again I am getting disconnected. I am either in a won position or in a strong position when this happens. The website should provide reconnection to the game in progress like Yahoo chess site allows. But nowadays Yahoo games server is not accessible in India at all.

just play with a high speed internet like i'm doing! I never been disconnected that's why i don't have looses! there's no problem in chess.com it's in your computer connections!

Thanks for your comments my friend, at least theres someone else who aired this inadequacy of this otherwise good chesswebsite if not of this disconnection problem.  Even if we subscribe to paid membership, we cannot be assured of a good service if we continue to experience this problem.

They promised to add the "reconnect" feature months ago, but, unfortunately, have not done it yet.Frown

hey mr pahol..you should watch your stupid language

just because you are ignorant of the chess.com rules of pre-moves does not mean that you can use abusive language.

I agree with Raja... first learn, then speak.

Nope, had it happen to me this morning for the very first time.  Why yes, I do feel special, thank you.  Guess what, I was down an exchange and a pawn when it happened.  Has to be the first time in the history of the forums that someone was losing when they lost their connection...

This forum is one of the oldest that I found in chess.com!

Is it my computer, my router or my internet connection that causes my disconnect.

Probably the computer.  Chess.com is kind of a memory hog and when it runs out, bad things happen.
