Issue with messages

Hi!

I use Chess.com on a laptop. Whenever I refresh the page (or go onto a new one within the website) the little messages icon in the bottom left hand corner gets the little red bubble above it indicating I have a message. It stays for about 5 seconds and then disappears, but I would have clicked on it by then to see if someone's messaged, and it's just a waste of time. How do I fix this glitch?

Click the double arrow (Mark all as read) next time, it worked for me.

I noticed this effect on an old browser that was no longer supported by chess.com. So what is your browser? What version?

A version 74 Chrome Browser - not a tech person so I have no idea what that means!

Oh no! My only issue is I lease this laptop from school so I have no control over it, can't update and stuff. I was wondering if it a setting could be changed within Chess.com?
