Getting really disheartened now, there goes another game lost from disconnection. This time my opponents clock ran down for 5mins, I watched it, then a message saying I'd lost. Went back to fics and played 4 long games, 2 1/2 hours of uninterrupted play, bliss.
disconnections and chess.com servers are a plague on this site.

I am experiencing the same problem! I've just played this game that was interrupted. I've had no connection issues on my side. chess.com was working fine for me for example, but the live chess site had connection problems. After waiting a while (since the live chess site was saying it was trying to reestablish the connection), I've decided to look my games up on chess.com. Apparently I had "abandoned" my last game. I have done no such thing! The servers disconnected me, the servers were the ones with conection problems.
I ended up having a great game ruined and if that weren't enough, it is marked as being abandoned by me! That is just plain ridiculous! Can anything please be done about this? It's not the first time the servers disconnect me and, from what I hear, others either.

Considering the thousands of games played on this site every day, a few hicups seem relatively unimportant.
There will be other games.

This seems to happen to me about once or twice a week—getting disconnected while playing, then not being able to reconnect to (or reload) chess.com, even though other websites work fine. It's like the chess.com server is refusing my connection, or something.
Yes, I agree, it can be frustrating, especially when you're in the middle of a particularly good game. But oh well. Life goes on. :)

About more than 100 games were lost by me by this problem the saddest.was when my opponent had one more move before check mate and no other pieces on board and I was mating with Q and R ,well game abandoned
and lost by me even though he had no piece on board except his King..
Live std/15-10..I had more than 5 mts and he had more than 8mts when
the last move was played by him..

About chess com servers I donot know but of browsers I have found
Opera..38 to be functioning well and better than Google Chrome for this
site..

Just happened to me again. Chess.com stops responding, while other websites work fine. Gave me a loss (on a game I was wining) saying "game abandoned."
Oh well! Small price to pay for free chess. :D

50% of my losses on this site are caused by a disconnection from the server, no it's not my ISP or cookies or other background data. of the game that I do manage to get to the end of, I've played with half the time of my opponents. On web browser: The game starts then however many moves in the disconnected blurb appears, I can open another page and watch YouTube so there's nothing wrong with my ISP. when the board comes back, if it comes back at all, either I've lost time (best case scenario), the board appears but in the starting position, or I'm watching someone else's game and my game is lost because of "abort". On android app: (I switch between both in the naïve hope that I can have an enjoyable game of chess) The game starts, I'm white playing 15/10, 1.e4 takes a millisecond, 2.Nf3 another millisecond, there's been no connection problem, no delay, it's taken 5 second's for us both to play or first 2 moves, now a reasonable expectation would be to see 15.10 on my clock accounting for lag, but no, my clock shows 14.05.. what happened to the other 1.05? oh, there it is on my opponents clock, 16.00, he started with 15 played 2 moves and gets an extra 1.00. This is just one example. To add insult to injury, before my last game I got a nice little message saying that deliberately disconnecting was frowned upon. Almost every game I've been disconnected from I've been ahead, equal or up for the fight. It really is taking all the joy out of playing.. I'm quite new here and would be more than happy to pay for a quality service, when I have a couple of games without server problems I think yea, get a membership, then I have the above problems. If your giving preferential treatment/server time to members fine, just tell me, if you can guarantee a decent service I'll pay. You have millions of members, ten's of thousands of people on at any one time, you must be able to afford new/more/better servers and software. If your renting from a hosting site maybe you could get more bandwidth - or at least warn people when they're overloaded. Any response? please.
