Does chess.com use cross-category data to calculate provisional ratings?

I've recently become active in the rated rapid pool and have played 4 games this week (the only 4 rated games I've played in this category on this account.)

I won 4/4 with opponents rated 2049, 2046, 2015 and 2125. Yet, after these four games, my provisional rating is only 2036.

I'm curious as to why this hasn't jumped up more and why I haven't gotten paired with higher rated players as yet?

I was wondering whether data from my old account, or from other rating categories is used to help establish confidence in the very early stages of rating formation?

Data is used from other time controls, definitely not other accounts. If you are 2000 in blitz and out of provisionals, if you go play rapid your starting rating will be 2000 and also out of provisionals. I think it used to be that each time control had its own provisional but has since been change.

Thank you, that makes sense and is quite helpful. I guess it's an effort to avoid overshoot and reduce big mismatched.
