Duplicate copies of chat entries

Chat entries get entered multiple times.
For instance if I type "Hello, good luck." and push enter, without pushing enter again or typing it again the entry shows up two or three times, repeatedly.
Has anyone else had this issue? Is this a know issue? How do I resolve it?
