Hi everyone,

I have been trying to work for two days saving my study databases and, when saving, shows the error: "PGN must contain exactly one game."

It occurs even if the position has one or two moves, with or without comments.

My account is premium, and because of this error I can't study!

Att,

T.

Where exactly are you trying to do this?

In the menu: Learn \ Analyzes

Does your PGN have more than one game in it? I'll have to double check, but the last time I tried a PGN it worked without issues.

Are you just trying to copy/paste the text into the Analysis Board?

The problems occur when I create the game directly on the virtual chess.com board. Hence the strangeness.

Watch the video saving the game on the analysis platform ... because when there is no error in the annotation of the line, there is an error to save, see:

OK, it looks like the Analysis won't allow you to save game fragments that don't start from the opening position. At least that is my guess based on brief testing. I'll ask staff and see if that is by design and if so, if they can make the error message clearer.

Actually, I just sent in a bug report instead.

Martin, thank you so much for choosing to help me. Honored for your attitude!

Did you test and did the error with "fragments" also occur to you? I am reluctant to believe that this is so, because if so, I could not study fragments on the platform and keep them safe, which would make absolutely no sense. Anyway, we will wait to see if the support will give me a solution. I was loving the platform to study with my son, so we bought it; but now it has become less attractive for that.

PS. Checking here in my account, I have already analyzed and saved other endings, they are in the database normally. sad.png

I think it is just a bug.

neworlleans

Is true.

Any word on this? Still happens to me.

From my experience the save works if you remove the comments from the game.

I made this today https://www.chess.com/analysis/game/pgn/3Q76fAWQea and ideally I would like to include annotations such as ?? on move 13 but I get that error if I try to save any of those.

I have the same issue. Did you manage to fix it?

The problem can be caused by a few different reasons. The system doesn't support some kinds of PGNs

KevinPolisano

I found the problem in my case, I put symbols as "<<" and ">>" inside my comments, which causes an error. Try this minimalist example:

1. e4 e5 {<<Test} 2. Nf3 {End test>>} 2... Nc6 *

New Analysis > Paste the PGN > Save

It gives "PGN must contain exactly one game"
