Why are you on change username, if you need to sign in that is the ‘log in’ screen

no, but seriously, it’s not what notchbert is saying either. Why does the button say “change” as in change username? The system is behaving as if it WANTS me to change my password, and I tried, but then it wants my old password, which I have, just can’t remember atm. I will soon enough.

It's a security mechanism to prevent someone with access to your device from changing your username, without also knowing the password.
