I did not have that happen to me. The site seems just fine to me. A bit odd and strange that it would be affiliated with chess.com though. Very few users on the site, I guess it must have just launched.
Gambit.com sister site?

I don't think it IS part of this site. Most people would of got an alert about its launch. I got an alert when they bought ChessVibes.com

yea, I'm guessing it's not actually part of the site either. But that doesn't mean they couldn't be partners. On their page there is a note saying welcome all chess.com users.

Because of viruses, I wont go on it until staff confirms either yeh or nay. If its a scam, of course the're gonna make it look good. All you have to do is log on, and they've got your password, e-mail, cross that with facebook, or the financial tools used to pay for membership. I got enought problems. I just want to get out of winter. If its legit, we got all summer to check it out.

Don't quote me on this, but I recall erik saying that one of his friends had created Gambit.com, which would explain why chess.com was helping them advertise.

Well lets try it; HEY ERIC; "IS IT SAFE?" nevermind Dustin Hoffman, "IS IT SAFE?", Last chance; I'm getting the pliers. "IS IT SAFE?"

I can't think of one Bitcoin site that hasn't turned out to be a scam. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=83794.0

There was an alert. Here is a forum post talking about it:

There is a big difference between a bitcoin site and a site that uses bitcoins.
Sites that are called bitcoin sites, often target making money from the bitcoin system.
Sites that use bitcoins usually use them like currency to unlock features or as prizes.
I would, however, be weary of a site giving bitcoins as prizes. Not because the site is a problem, but because pretty much any game is open to cheating when played over the internet.
I had just got on chess.com when a banner such as the ones that are up when chess.com tv is on shows up and says that chess.com has a sister site called gambit.com. When I tried to go to that website I got a warning from my antimalware software that it was a dangerous website. I didn't go to that site and I haven't seen the banner since then. Did anyone else have this happen to them and is this website really a sister site of chess.com?
