I actually got a message from chess.com returning rating points to me due to server maintenance issues.... I have always thought that when you abandoned you abandoned but apparently not???????

Playing black. I "lost" this game when I was up 20. White moved 46. Kh5 and I responded with 46. Qh1+ but right when I clicked the button, the game ends with "White Won/Game Abandoned." Not a rated game but this is one reason why I don't play with my account right now, apart from bots: strange goings on these days. FYI.
