Why did the game stalemate?? My (black) position was way superior, I even took the pawn to prevent "stalemate because no pieces were taken for too long"...why the hell thit this take place? I had a ton of legal moves. Please explain. Neither me nor the opponent surrendered.

Yes, you shouldn't let that happen. King is not in check and you took away any legal moves from your opponent by taking that pawn. Those are the rules--that is the definition of a stalemate.

Don't worry, it doesn't mean you should feel bad about it. Just be careful to watch out for stalemates in the future.

Why did the game stalemate??

Because you played .....bxa4. White had no legal moves = stalemate.

You blundered. No legal spaces to go to equals stalemate.

Go to the 'Learn' and 'Endgames' section and you can find some exercises for drilling this.

When facing an opponent with little or no material, it is important to check that every move that doesn't give check to the king leaves the king (or any other piece) a move. In this case Rg1# was correct. Fiddling with pawns on the other side of the board from the king is a big time-waster.
