Getting Matched With Higher Ranked Players Than I Set My Limit To In Rapid.

Playing 60 minute rapid like usual and I've noticed that despite setting my incoming/outgoing challenges to only +25 I've been getting matched with people who are still definitely higher. To include a game against a 1010 while I was only ranked under 700 (https://www.chess.com/game/live/58248645477). I've noticed recently despite being 695 I'm getting matched with people who are in the 750s at minimum. I don't wanna abort a bunch of times because I know that'll hurt me in the long run, but still what am I supposed to do about facing people with such a disparity despite having it set otherwise?

And I do understand that I am in daily tournaments and expect varying levels of match making there, but these games I'm bringing up are strictly non-tournament rapid games.

Same, but for me it's i keep on getting matched people lower rated.

Stop being afraid of playing with players a little higher than you in rating.

Ohhh okay I've just changed the outgoing not the incoming.

AbbyTheButcher

Changed both still getting matched with people in the 1000s

For the record he did abort so thankfully I didn't lose anything here, but still.

Both incoming and outgoing are set to +25, How am I getting matched with 1080s?

It's very possible there wasn't anyone in the pool that met the requirements and rather than make you wait, it paired.

Two other things to try. First would be yo use the settings on the main site, not in Live, and verify the Live Chess settings are right there.

If that doesn't help, try a custom game and explicitly set the rating range there.

I've been getting lots of matches below my range. I thought maybe -50/+100 was too narrow, so I reset to -100/+150 and I get matches even more below my rating. And I'm only fair to middling.

When I abort, I get warned. This proves that Chess.com must be run by  MAGA Republicans.
