getting out of a game

When I press to play these 3 day games and I get a 800 level player from another country how can I abort the game.

Martin_Stahl

You can abort early on. Hover over the flag and it should say abort if no moves have been made. It may stay that way for 2 or 3 moves.

But you should make sure your seek settings are set so you don't get that low or an opponent.

hovering over the flag did not work. What now?

There still have been no moves.

The hover should give a popup that says if it is resign or abort. But as long as it isn't a tourney game you can click it and there will be no rating change .

That popup never happened, now the game is going. I want players over me. How do you set that?

Martin_Stahl

Just click the flag resign.png, that will end the game.

There are some things you can do. However, no matter what you do, your rating has to be included in the range.

First, in Settings > Daily Chess you can set your Opponent Rating to a better range. That should make your default challenges set to those ranges.

You can also use the Custom Challenge option when creating a seek and in there click More Options to modify the seek settings for that seek too.

Finally, you can directly challenge people too, though that may be hit or miss since they may not feel like playing games.

I have a player abusing the time and vacation time. He perpetually waits the complete three days down to the last min. then goes on vacation. this game has been going on since Aug. 10. What Can I do to get out of the game without resigning?

Martin_Stahl

You will just have to wait. Your opponent is premium and is getting placed on vacation automatically. Every time vacation is set, 24 hours of time gets deducted from their available bank. So they should run out eventually, under normal circumstances. Though, looking at that game, you opponent still has 3 months of vacation, which should be the max, so I don't know how they have that much if they have been going on it a lot.

If they were using vacation to prolong a completely lost game, then the site might do something about it but normally won't beyond that.

I beat him in another game, He did not do that 3 day thing. He asked for a rematch and agreeing he done this from the beginning. I think I have a slight advantage, because of his last move. I thought taking with the rook was better, He may feel the three pawns in the center will make one go in, but I don't think so. Thanks for your input.
