Gifted Membership

I got a message saying that someone (not posting username to protect their anonymity) gifted me a diamond membership, but I don't seem to have one? Is this a glitch of some sort, or did something else happen?

do they have proof that they purchased the membership on their end?

Hi, I also got a gifted diamond membership (from someone I know) but it is not activating as well

Gifted memberships to members that already have premium just credit the account for the amount of that membership. If you want to upgrade, you'll have to do it yourself.

If you upgrade, you'll want downgrade after the gift term is over or your membership will continue at that level and decrease the amount of time of your existing membership or renew at the higher level.

I don't already have a membership, though
