I guess you're talking about live chess, right?
When you click new game with certain parameters, you'll have to wait a little for opponents that meet your criteria to appear. For example, if you put in 1600+ 10 minutes, you have to wait for a 1600+ rated player to put on a seek that has you within its criteria, or for him/her to accept your challenge manually.
So you can either wait, or broaden your criteria so that you'll find opponents more easily.
If it IS really a glitch, maybe clearing your browser's cache, and using either Chrome or Mozilla might solve it.

I'm new to the site and am having some troubles with games and rematches. When I'd like to start a new game, and put in the new game parameters at the prompt, nothing happens. It stays on the game I just played. I've logged out, logged in, refreshed, and tried a couple different things -- but it just seems to stay on the previous game. Any suggestions?
