Greeter games...
Generally speaking it is a way for a new member to play a game with a member and ask questions, learn about the site, etc.
The game is unrated and unless you just really want to do it, just ignore it.
I understand what it is but not how to set it up. How does one propose a greeter game to a new member?
Ah, I see. Check out this FAQ. Bascially, in your online chess settings there is a check box stating you are willing to play unrated greeter games and the maximum # you are willing to play.
When I set min up to 5 I was very quickly matched with 5 new players. Each one made 1 move and then timed out. From what I have read on the forums, that is pretty normal. I haven't had any new ones start, so I don't know for sure if the max # is the max I will ever play or if I will eventually get more but only 5 at a time.

I am pretty sure you are too slow now at Time/Move: 1 day 8 hrs to be assigned any more greeter games.

I guess if I had read that FAQ completely I would have known that
I'm surprised it doesn't include how fast you have to be. My time/move has actually gotten better over the past couple of weeks since I've been playing a few shorter games (it was up over 2 days avg). I wonder at what point they might kick in again?
